So lately I have been listening to Skrillex, Bassnectar, Deadmau5, and stuff like that. I really enjoy Skrillex more than most, along with some Zircon, and listen to First Of The Year (Equinox) and Ruffneck (FULL Flex) CONSTANTLY. Most dubstep is a lot alike, with slamming synths, BROOOWRs, heavy drums, and extreme bitcrushers.
But each artist has their own style.

I don't really, like, listen to new stuff every day, so I don't know a whole lot about dubstep.
Some Thoughts on Electronic Music.
Dubstep, I think, is a cross between techno and destructive synths. It was most likely invented by some aliens who met a monster and stole a keyboard and a drum set. But yeah, it is a monster genre. I don't know if it is as popular as Gotye or electronic and techno, but it's WAY up there. I use Garageband to do all my music, but so far I haven't done any dubstep, but it's in progress.
The general-ness of dubtep is that it's a good way to kill brain cells, destroy buildings, rock up the apartment, and to throw down sick grooves in a dance club. My friend Jackson Braden is in the know on most electronic music (sorta). I have heard Tiƫsto is kind of dropping from Jackson, but i'm not so sure. Anyway, some of the most popular dubstep is by Rusko, Skrillex, and others. Just check iTunes. I just listened to Stenchman, and that's a head-thrasher to the max. Even if it is basic.
Just some thoughts!
